2025 College Student Safety Scholarship Winner

Shira TillmanBiography:

My name is Shira Tillman, and I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW) at Quinnipiac University. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Quinnipiac University in three years and continued my education with a strong interest in advocacy, mental health, and student safety.

In addition to my academic work, I am a captain of the Quinnipiac cheerleading team, where I have developed leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. Through my academic and extracurricular experiences, I am passionate about creating supportive environments and advocating for the well-being of others.

Reaction Statement:

I am incredibly honored and grateful to be selected as the recipient of the Benjamin Levine 2025 College Student Safety Scholarship! Student safety is a topic I am deeply passionate about and one that I learned a great deal about during my time spent as a Resident Assistant on campus.

Being recognized for my commitment to this issue means a lot to me, especially as I continue my education in social work. This scholarship helps ease the financial burden of my graduate studies and allows me to remain focused on advocating for safer, more supportive environments for students. I am truly thankful for this opportunity and for the support behind this scholarship.
